The hottest day of the year saw Lewes Party Band Tongue & Groove host their annual Midsummer Madness at the Pells Pool, produced by LYT
Lotte Pearl opened to clear blue skies and a sold out audience, performing an amazing eclectic set of her own songs and covers. Then, led by Phil “The Fox” Rose, Tongue and Groove stormed the stage with a record-breaking 12 piece lineup and played a set packed with old favourites and a heap of new songs, including Sledgehammer, Baby Come Back, Video Killed the Radio Star and Don’t Stop me Now! The band had the whole audience dancing into the sunset with boundless energy… right until the legendary finale!
This year saw a 007 themed stunt with plumes of fire and the incredible Waterloo Bonfire Society set piece. The Fox had to avoid the flames, scale dizzy heights and escape a spinning cage of fire while saving the Pool from the evil Blofeld. This (inevitably!) ended with The Fox being blown off a fiery platform into the pool … and everyone was safe once again!
Phil commented: “It was hot up there” and “Thank you as ever to Phil at the Pool and his team for such amazing support for this yearly event – do remember to get tickets early next year as they sold out in record time once again.”
