Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website (www.lytproductions.co.uk) is owned and operated by LYT Productions, a not-for-profit community group.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help us with spam detection.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

When you submit information to us through a contact form on our website, your data will be sent via email and stored in a secure database. As well as the data you enter into the form, we also record your IP address and other technical information about your visit to allow us to monitor use of the forms and detect spam and abuse.

Any information you supply to us in a contact request will be treated confidentially and will not be shared externally, although may pass through multiple web and email servers operated by third parties. Your data will not be held for more than two years before being removed from our database.

Your information will not be used for any purpose other than to respond to any enquiry or message you have submitted, unless you have explicitly consented to us using your information to send you future news and updates about LYT Productions and associated organisations and events. You can opt out from any such communication at any time, should you wish to do so.

In any instance where an enquiry through our website leads to further communication or business with LYT (for example you join our crew, or hire us for an event), we will store and use your information to allow us to provide our services and save requesting such information from you again. You retain the right to request we delete all personal information at any point.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We may record anonymous usage data about your visit to our website for analytics purposes only. This enables us to improve our user experience and understand how our site is used.

Who we share your data with

Data we collect, or that you submit through our website is stored in a secure database with our UK based web hosting provider – Cloud Next Limited.

Except where essential for the operation of our website (ie. information processed through third party servers), or where you have specifically consented to us passing your information on to a third party, we will not share your information with any third party, unless required to do so by law.
